Lois Cohen - Reclining Female Nude
An eloquently painted reclining female nude figure by Lois Elaine Green Cohen.
Lois Elaine Green Cohen (1919-2012), was born in Chicago, Ill. She studied art at the Carnegie Technical in Pittsburg, PA, Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, CA, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Cohen was primarily a watercolorist, especially known for her paintings of figures, landscapes, animals, and urban scenes. She worked in Pittsburgh as a fashion illustrator before moving to Los Angeles in 1938. She worked as a motion picture illustrator and painted in her spare time.
She was a member of the California Watercolor Society.
This work is a mixed media on paper and measures 17.75 x 21.5 inches sight size, and 23.75 x 27.75 x 1.75 inches overall including the framing.
